Harlingen

The perfect spot for kitesurfing on the Wadden Sea.

You can almost always kitesurf in Harlingen, but the spot is best at high tide due to less slippage. At low tide, it gets slippery because of soft mud, so be careful not to slip. Afterwards, you can rinse your gear at the shower under the beach pavilion.

There's plenty of space to inflate your kite and lay out your lines. The first 50 meters of the beach are usually clean, followed by a strip of mud. Watch out for unleashed dogs and always roll up your lines.

Free parking is available directly behind the sea dike (sometimes full in summer), with additional space across the road. There's also a beach pavilion for food and drinks.

Kitesurfing is permitted from April 1st to August 31st.
