Mirns and Workum are our home base. Mirns is perfect for beginners thanks to its shallow water, no current, and minimal waves. The spot is suitable for kiting with winds from west to east, including south. If the wind is from the north, we head to Workum.

There's a spacious grassy area to set up your kite, and the water is shallow up to about 500 meters from the shore. On the beach, there's ample space for a safe launch. The kite zone is clearly marked with yellow buoys. The nature reserve is indicated by poles with a stop sign. At the entrance of the restaurant, there's a sign with all the rules.

The spot is accessible via the route to Mirnserklif, where you can also park for free in the renovated parking area.

Respect the buoys and signs. They indicate where kiting is allowed and where it is not. Be mindful of nature and other water users.

Mirns is ideal with winds from the west, south, and east.
